Different training. Shared respect for complexity.

Kindle Dell Wellness brings psychotherapy and psychiatric care together when patients want coordinated care, while preserving the option to work with either clinician independently.

Deborah A. Smith
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Deborah A. Smith, MSN, ARNP, PMHNP-BC

Deborah has worked as a registered nurse since 2013. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of West Georgia in 2018, her Master of Science in Nursing Education there in 2022, and completed her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner training at Georgia College & State University in 2025. She became board certified as a PMHNP in 2025.

Her prescribing philosophy is holistic and person-centered. She views diagnosis as a useful, evolving working model rather than a permanent box. When medication is useful, she prefers the minimum effective medication burden and will simplify or deprescribe when appropriate. She is also comfortable managing complex medication regimens when a complex situation genuinely requires them.

Deborah pays particular attention to side effects, functioning, and quality of life. Medication is ultimately the patient’s choice: she does not insist that someone take medication, and she does not prescribe simply because a medication is requested. Basic person-centered or solution-focused therapy may be part of visits, while her primary psychiatric role is symptom relief and medication care.

Her inpatient psychiatric nursing and COVID-era nursing experiences shaped how she works with people in crisis. They reinforced the importance of isolation, environment, life circumstances, and clear communication, not only symptoms or diagnoses. Her background in nursing education also influences how she explains medications and diagnoses in practical, understandable ways.

Jeremy L. Smith
Neuropsychotherapist

Jeremy L. Smith, LMFTA

Jeremy initially trained as a biologist and neuroscientist, earning a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Georgia State University in 2002 and a PhD in neuroscience from Michigan State University in 2008. He became a therapist after caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s disease, earning a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from National University in 2024.

His work is especially oriented toward trauma, dissociation, medically complicated situations, and other presentations that don’t fit neatly into a single treatment model. His family work is primarily medical family therapy, helping patients, caregivers, and families navigate the relational and emotional effects of chronic or serious illness.

Jeremy practices neuropsychotherapy and is the founder of Embodied Depth Integration (EDI), an integrative approach for deciding which therapeutic methods may be most useful, when, and why. He often draws from EMDR, experiential and somatic approaches, attachment and developmental work, mindfulness, depth-oriented psychotherapy, and other methods depending on the person and the stage of treatment.

His guiding principle is simple: fit the treatment to the person, never the other way around.
